Fragrant, colourful, floating soaps. This was the beginning of “In Nature Itself”.

Based in Auckland, New Zealand the company has grown from manufacturing a boutique range of floating soaps for the local market, to exporting soaps, skincare products and gift packs to Australia, Malaysia/Singapore and America.

Greg and Sophia Cooke purchased the company in 2003. They were excited by the current products, particularly the fact that INI had created the world’s first floating soap. They were also bursting with ideas for extensions to the range. Sophia has worked in a research and development capacity for a major cosmetics manufacturer, whilst Greg has many years experience in the sales and marketing for a cosmetics ingredients importer.

To help cope with these growing pains Greg and Sophia have refined the company structure, initiated a review of all products, and focused their efforts on scaling the business for growth. This planning would not have occurred so rapidly if it was not for the Business Mentor scheme, and NZTE Enterprise training programmes.

An exciting development this year is the expansion of the business to include an office and manufacturing plant in Bangkok, Thailand. This improves the capacity to service the Asian market.

The business is constantly evolving new products and variants. It monitors trends in colours, fragrances and what is happening in both the USA and European markets. Greg says that “we are always looking for new ideas and products that will give our customers a bit of fun and a whole lot of pleasure”.
